Mr. J. 3, Boudreau Dear Jims You will recall our recent conversation in Buffalo in which I told you about the customer of the Sinclair Refining Co* who believes that he is suffering from, lead poisoning, caused by lead treated gasoline* Enclosed is a letter which I just received from Mo*. Lish, Sinclair's Commission Agent in Wellsville, which is self explanatory. I don't know just what our Medical Department will care to do in this matter but I plan to see Mr* Lish again tomorrow and will get what further information I can regarding the matter. As you suggested, I will try to obtain the names of the physicians in Rochester who have been handing this case and who have blamedtha condition on our gasoline. Needless to say, I will not see Mr.flHJT until I re ceive instructions to do so. I shall advise you at once of any further developments in this matter. Very truly yours. M. P. Dear Sir: I agreed to write to you some time ago on the condition of Mr, mKg relative to the lead poisoning in his system, I have made the third call at his residence and Have found him to he only slightly improved. He is unable to walk without -the use of cains and braces on one leg and likewise does not have any use of the re flexes in either leg below the knee, I conversed with him at seme length regarding the diagnosis of the Rochester doctors. They insist that it is the lead poisoning0 After considerable circumnavigating around the point, I learned that about two years ago he burned a wet battery in his furnace and at that time his house was filled with fumes. He does not lay the entire blame to this incident but thinks that fumes from gasoline in the garage were more to blame than the above incident, I approached him next from the view point that possibly your special medical men could give him some valuable information on treatment of his case if it were presented to them, I did not put your company in a position of hav ing any obligations toward him but said that possibly they could recommend some point where he could get treatment to better advantage than what he is at present receiving. He cannot afford to stay in Rochester where he is obliged to pay nine dollars a day for hospital treatment.
