Dear Mr. Mitchell: I am taking the liberty of turning over to you the following names of deceased persons in whose lungs asbestos or asbestos-like deposit has been found, hoping that I may be able to obtain information on their time of work at the asbestos factory, if they worked there. I am not certain whether I have previously given these names to you or not. George Anderson (o), died 1933: Harry Manigault (c), died 1933: Lassie Jones (c), died 1933: Alice Lumpkin (c), died 1933: John Harris (white), died 1933: Nellie Nichols (o), died 1934: Benjamin Garvis (white), died 1934. The information which you gave me on another list a few days ago has developed some interesting points for further study, some of which may bear importantly on the questions in which we are interested. It is important to know whether the employment time data obtained in these cases is thoroughly dependable and whether any one could have worked there during the time in question and it not appear on the records. I would like, also,to know when the improvement in dust disposal was made and whether the asbestos used earlier was of different composition to that now in use, especially whether it contained free silica.
