(cont'd.) 4D2 SECURING FIXED FLANGE INSULATION 4D2.1 Fixed flange covers shall be secured with one 3/4" wide band for every 6" of flange cover length but with not less than 2 bands. 4D3 PORTABLE COVERS, 4D3.1 Portable flange covers shall be. made wide enough to permit the removal of the flange bolts without damaging the adjacent shell insulation. (See figure 25) The end discs shall be made thick enough to fill the bolt; removal space and lessen the amount of the internal void: (See figure 25) 4D3.2 Portable head covers shall have an inner shell of 16 ga. sheet metal (2 halves) as shown in figure 2&A. The insulation shall be cemented to the inner shell with 4l-99 P.V.A. mastic or 30-45 sealing mastic. (See figure 2fiB)
