Richard reports that a number of JCML activities will cease this month, including "routine hematology" and follow-up for disease progression cases. I have contacted him by email and plan a telephone call early in August for clarification. Otto raises the concern that not all relevant cases of either AML or lymphoid neoplasms have been forwarded to JCML by some of the "participating" hospitals, which would have a negative impact on the case-control study-incomplete case ascertainment. We will try to clarify that important issue also, ASAP. Something else for the QA/QC team to discuss. It has proved impossible to assemble a sufficient fraction of the SEP and ERP membership to convene a meaningful research meeting this summer, so a series of conference calls are planned as a substitute to address the most pressing issues.
