OSHA HAZARD COMMUNICATION STANDARD
VISTA
Below is the proposed content for your letters to our distributors, resellers, etc. Feel free to reduce content, etc., but I'd like to review the final letter.
Under the OSHA Hazard Communication Standard (29 CFR 1910.1200)
those employers who produce chemicals for use or distribution have
many obligations.
OSHA has stated that "Produce" means to
manufacture, process, formulate or repackage. As a purchaser and
distributor (reseller) of Vista products we want to be sure you are
aware of the following obligations you have under the standard.
1. A hazard evaluation must be done on the chemicals you produce or distribute.
2. Distributors shall ensure that Material Safety Data Sheets, and updated information, are provided to other distributors and manufacturing purchasers of hazardous chemicals.
3. The chemical manufacturer, importer, or distributor shall ensure that each container of hazardous chemicals leaving the workplace is labeled with an appropriate hazard warning.
Vista has completed the required hazard determination and has MSDSs and label language available to assist you in complying with the OSHA Hazard Communication Standard.
