Interoffice Communication TO: Sid Pitts, Darrell Zimmer FROM: Tom Grumbles DATE: May 7, 1984 SUBJ: MSDSs FOR PURCHASE AGREEMENTS MATERIALS All of the purchase and exchange agreements between Vista and Conoco Inc. contain a warning clause which requires that material safety data sheets be supplied for each stream or "product". Below is a list of these streams. Some are currently products and MSDSs exist. The other streams are intermediates or by-products and a MSDS must be produced. 1. Aromatic Distillates - Defined as HAD and slop oil combined. This agreement also has an LAD clause in it. An LAD sheet is already done. 2. Normal Paraffin Stabilizer Overhead - Molex unit product. 3. Solvent Stripper Overhead (SSQ) - A combined stream from ALFOL stripped solvent, light olefins from ALFOL, Pacol stripper overhead from the LAB unit, and quench unit solvent. 4. Hydrogen Off-Gas - Draft sheet enclosed for review, 5. Molex Raffinate - Draft sheet enclosed for review. 6. LPA Solvent - Commercial product; MSDS already complete. For Streams 1, 2, and 3 I have very little information. We need to determine what physical and chemical measurements have been made and if necessary run the needed tests to complete an MSDS. These will be needed at closing. When you have determined what information is available, please call me so we can proceed with drafting the sheets. Applicable information from the purchase agreements for 1, 2, and 3 is also enclosed. Also enclosed is a blank MSDS for drafting the sheets on. To the best of my knowledge the MSDS needs to satisfy warning clauses applicable to LCCC (Dock Agreement) have been taken care of. I will send complete packages of all sheets to you when we're done.
