Hi, Scott. I trust you are well and enjoying your return to the Buffalo shed. I see you met Alice Ferguson's Executive Director (soon to be CEO/President). She's amazing so don 't get any ideas of stealing her.
On behalf of the AFF Board of Directors, I'd like to encourage you to come visit AFF and Pinot on the Potomac is a great way to do it. We are having fun and raising funds at the same time to continue our good work educating the future generation about the environment and our need to be good stewards. The Cafritz Living Building is just one example of how we can live in harmony with the environment. Given the proximity to Piscataway National Park (much of it on land that AFF donated to the NPS in the past) and the programs that AFF undertakes under contract to NPS, I can't think of a more enjoyable way for you to witness firsthand the beauty of the property, the enthusiasm of the staff and the AFF mission.
I hope I will be able to greet you on the 24th. If not, let's get together at your convenience at the Farm and we can catch up. Best, Abe

Hi Scott,
It was a pleasure to meet you earlier this week at the Capitol Hill Oceans Week Gala with Ben Grumbles! Ben has been a stalwart of the event since his time at EPA and it's been so much fun for me to see how the organization and event have grown since I
started it more than 15 years ago.
These days, I have the privilege of working with wonderful people like Ben and one of your former colleagues, Abe Haspel, who serves as one of my bosses on the Alice Ferguson Foundation's Board of Directors. Thanks for expressing interest in a visit to our outdoor education center and working farm. I was just out on our boardwalk earlier today with some of the regional Park Service leadership and we ran into an avid
hunter/fisher who's also a birder. I couldn't have paid him to say more glowing things about our beautiful Piscataway Park and the work we do as a partner in interpreting this location. He travels national and internationally for his job with Benelli guns and he said, unsolicited, that this is one of his favorite spots on the planet. We hope you'll come down and see why!
One of our signature events is coming up soon our annual Pinot on the Potomac wine tasting is next Saturday June 24th. I've attached our invitation, which includes a pre reception in our new Cafritz Foundation Environmental Center building. We just achieved certification under the most stringent set of energy efficiency, high performance building standards in the world the Living Building Challenge. And we also scored the highest number of points EVER for a LEED certified building in the state of Maryland (and the second highest in the nation!). There are LOTS of ways to tackle natural resiliency!
We'd love to invite you to join us as our guest. Ben I hope you and Karen and the kids plan to join us again this year too. Food is provided by James Beard Award winning chef Todd Gray, whose Equinox restaurant is always a favorite of whichever
administration happens to be located at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue! If the 24th doesn't work for your busy schedule Scott, we hope we can identify a date soon for a visit.
All the best,
Lori
