The patient, Mr. > aSe 49, Carlisle, Indi ana, has been a StalffiK^Oii^Jompany employee for the past 24 years. In December, 1945, the first symptoms appeared.. The patient fainted while attending church. Examination at that time was negative. The symptoms complained of by the patient following this episode were: coldness and stiffness over the entire body, a numbness in his feet which ascended to include his entire legs, genera.'! malaise, headache and nausea. Following this, lead poisoning was suspected. Samples of urine and blood were sent to your laboratory and lead poisoning confirmed. The patient improved somewhat during the next year and as a test case, he remained- a.ay from work for a two months' period. This was in ' 1947. he steadijy improved after this but now, during the past two to three months, Mr. 4s developing a multiple neuritis and myositis. ~ ' Mr. would he happy to corne to Cincinnati at your convenience for the desired laboratory work and inter view.
