I. Introduction
On July 16, 2024, a CAA Asbestos NESHAP Inspection was conducted at the former Days Inn, located at Seven Bridge Road, East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania.
a. Summary of Site / Facility The Days Inn was a multiple building hotel and restaurant complex. The facility is being demolished for redevelopment.
b. Entry & Opening Conference
EPA Region III Inspector Richard Ponak arrived at the facility at approximately 9:55 am on July16, 2024, for an announced inspection. Upon arrival, Inspector Ponak met Sam Patel, owner of the site. Inspector Ponak presented his federal credentials to Mr. Patel.

III. Site / Facility Walkthrough
Inspector Ponak and Mr. Patel walked the demolition site and observed there were still numerous areas with Regulated Asbestos Containing Material (RACM) debris. No asbestos warning signs were posted and access to the site was not restricted. Inspector Ponak observed the RACM was dry. Inspector Ponak did not observe any wetting source or water on site. Inspector Ponak and Mr. Patel agreed that areas of the property needed to be cleaned up. Mr. Patel stated he would have his contractor clean up the remaining debris as soon as possible. Mr. Patel stated he would contact Inspector Ponak when the work was completed. Inspector Ponak left the site.
