TENNECOINTER-OFFICE MEMO CHEMICALS, INC TO From Subject J. T. Sweeney at Flemington date July 27, 1976 R. A. Lojewski at Flemington VCM Exposure Data and TWA - Flemington Plant Area Monitoring System Period: July 10, 1976 to July 16, 1976 Copy to W. D. Bord Co N. Brown* R. F. Fanter Wo F. Gabel Mo R. Haymon Do M. Hershkowitz F0 W. Kanzler W. Miringoff P. M. Reed S. Robbins* M. K. Rosen G. I. Rozand Fo Toca R. J. Young Attached are the Plant area summaries (Tables l-III). Table IV lists all excursions at or above 100 ppm including the number of incidents. Table V shows the TWA by job classification calculated from the data in Tables I-III. Also attached is an analysis of the data by W. D. Bord. Graph #1 shows the percentage of readings above 1 and 5 ppm VCM for the Reactor Building, while Graph #2 shows weekly averages for the Reactor Building and the Pilot Plant. The Plant was in operation five days (start up on July 12, 1976) for this report period running at about 82% utilization. The Pilot Plant was not in operation this report period. As of July 13, 1976, eight Bendix heads were placed in special service. The choice of heads to be used was based on minimum impact on the job classification TWA's and their physical location in relation to other heads to maintain adequate area coverage. Please note the Reactor Building averages for the duration of the project (projected running time 2-3 weeks) is not a true average and may be lower than normal. Three readings at or above 100 ppm occurred during this report period reflecting three separate incidents. One incident occurred in the Reactor Building affecting the first floor center aisle. One incident occurred in the Pilot Plant affecting "F" reactor. The remaining incident occurred in the General Area affecting the VCM tank car unloading platform. RALrms R. A.
