Apparently this invitation was also send to
, VMM, OVAM and some others. They all expressed their
interest in the visit, but the 15th is not an option for them (the presentation of the PFAS report to the Flemisch Govt is
on the same date).
So they are going to answer positively to the invitation of Chemours and express their interest in a visit on another date.
Dus ik denk dat de datum van 15 juli, hoogstwaarschijnlijk zal worden uitgesteld naar een latere datum dit jaar.

As I will be off until 04/07 I would not be able to respond by 03/07. So my input:

- I would in any case be in favor of accepting the visit invitation to get an idea of the production processes and measures they take to reduce emissions. If only 15/07 is possible for them I would propose and I will go.
- Or if possible for them we could propose to have it in September as said, that way could also attend,
which to me would be the preferred option to ensure we have enough expertise present between us 3
Perhaps it would be interesting to also have some others there? For example BCR members and make it some kind of ad-hoc BCR? Or preferably also a chemist who is more knowledgeable on the chemical processes involved in the production process?
So in short: if possible organize it in September with multiple people, otherwise 15/07 also works for me, if join.

"openbaarheid van bestuur". And most (if not all, except agriculture) are available through geopunt.be (Natuur en
Milieu -> GPBV-installaties -> Chemische industrie).

? Not "must" bit a "nice to have" of
course. I am wandering if it is not more interesting for us to see the site in Mechelen. I am not present the 15/7, and I am not sure it
is wise to go alone there ( , I see is in holidays). Maybe in September?
, I remember that last year we looked at the environmental permits, is there any evolution regarding that in VL? I think you found a way to look at specific environmental permits like Mechelen? (not sure any more). If we visit, we can ask them to send us info before, I suppose they may send the permit.

Geachte mevrouw
In het kader van de huidige onderzoeken in Belgi met betrekking tot de No Regret PFAS-maatregelen, hebben wij begrepen dat het Vlaamse technologisch instituut VITO bekijkt welke BBT (BAT) er bestaat voor lucht- en wateremissies. Deze onderzoeken worden gecoiirdineerd door de Vlaamse Gewestregering (VMM). Onze collega Willem Callens maakt deel uit van deze belangrijke werkzaamheden.
De discussies die in Belgi worden gevoerd met betrekking tot PFAS emissies in het milieu, hebben in brede zin in Nederland in het verleden ook plaatsgevonden. Nederland heeft sindsdien zeer ambitieuze limieten gemplementeerd voor industrile emissies, zowel naar water als lucht.
Chemours heeft met een vooruitziende blik 10 zeer ambitieuze Corporate Responsibility Commitmentdoelen (de 'CRC-doelen') opgesteld in 2018, slechts drie jaar nadat het een onafhankelijk bedrijf is geworden. De CRC stelde onder andere serieuze doMtellingen voor 2030 (60% reductie van broeikasgasemissies), met het doel om zo in 2050 een netto-nul uitstoot van broeikasgassen te bereiken en bij te dragen aan de doMtellingen van het Klimaatakkoord van Parijs.
Het allerbelangrijkste om te noemen met betrekking tot de CRC-doMtellingen is , dat wij ons tot doel gesteld hebben de fabrieksemissies naar lucht en water van alle gefluoreerde organische chemicalin tegen 2030 met 99% of meer te verminderen ten opzichte van 2018. De vestiging van Chemours in Dordrecht (NL) verwacht dat 80% van deze doMtelling tegen 2024 zal worden gehaald, terwijl onze Belgische blending fabriek, in Mechelen, deze doMtelling al heeft bereikt.
Ter verduidelijking: de totale toegestane emissie naar lucht en water bij de fabriek in Dordrecht bedroeg bij de invoering van de HFPO DA-technologie ongeveer 8 ton per jaar en de werkelijke emissies bleven altijd ruim beneden de vergunde hoeveelheden. Chemours bleef de emissies verminderen en kondigde een verdere vermindering aan van de totale emissie naar lucht en water met 99% ten opzichte van het niveau van 2017. Dit heeft ertoe geleid dat de totale emissie van HFPO-DA naar lucht en water in 2021 ruim onder de 30 kg/jaar lag, waarmee de toezegging van 99 % reeds is gehaald.
In het kader van deze context nodigen wij u graag uit voor een bezoek aan onze vestiging op 15 juli 2022, om u te laten zien wat Chemours in Dordrecht heeft bereikt en om de voordelen van een gelijk speelveld in Europa op het gebied van verantwoord produceren te bespreken.
Wij vragen u ons uiterlijk 3 juli te laten weten of u beschikbaar bent voor het bezoek, door een reply op deze mail. Zie details hieronder.
