Dear Oscar:- Samples of air line hose from the Baltimore plant of Tide Water were expressed to the New York Office on Friday night at your request!" A sample was also sent in from air line equipment used in Rensselaer on Sunday, August 11th. In cases where the hose samples are coupled together, they were taken from the same length. Aside from breaks and blisters in the outside covering, a superficial examination showed nothing. These samples are labelled as to the hose box they were removed from. There were four boxes in all, including the equipment used at Rensselaer recently. In connection with this cleaning. Tide Water clea.ned TK No. 5, 3,500,000 gallon capacity, containing leaded gasoline on Sunday, August 11th, at Rensselaer, New York without notifying us. Mr. Dorsey, their tank cleaner, stated frankly he forgot all about it and stated his New York Office should handle these notifications. We have worked with this gentleman on tank cleaning and he does a good job. He was supplied with notification cards twice - once about two years ago - and again this spring. Seven face pieces were examined - six from Baltimore and one from the Rensselaer, New York plant. One from Baltimore had a cracked lens. A.side from this, they were in good condition.
