Hudson Falls: Scrap from your impregnation and repair area piped to.your storage tanks 6 and 7 is to be pumped into your tank car and shipped to Findett, freight collect. This material Is not expected to be grossly contaminated, thus we believe Findett's reclamation process will handle It. After each tank car has been handled by Findett, we will let you know the total pounds reclaimed and credit your account at $0.01 (one cent) per pound. The small amount of grossly contaminated scrap in the impregnator pit area should be disposed of In a toxic dump. Fort Edward: As you suggested, for the time being, we will not concern ourselves with this scrap material. However, when and If you find a convenient way to keep out gross contaminants such as mineral and pump oil, etc., we wi11 be glad to take another look at reclaiming this scrap. Your efforts to find appropriate clean drums for storage and shipment of this material, should you not be able to utilize bulk handling via the storage tank behind your building and your tank car, will be a key factor in Findett's ability to reclaim this scrap. Our only suggestlon for Immediate disposal Is to run It through a toxic dump. Sometime during the first quarter of '69, Flndett expects to have increased and more efficient distillation capacity which Indicates that we mioht be able to reclaim some of this material. The problem Is that we find this material so grossly contaminated that there is no economic value in it for either General Electric or Monsanto. Should you f1n3 yourself in a position of having to wait until next spring to dispose of this material, we will be glad to dis cuss It further at that time.
