EPA ED 001523B 00001331-00003 November 8, 2017 Environmental Protection Agency Office of the Administrator 1101A 1200 Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W. Washington, DC 20460 Dear Administrator Pruitt: I am w riting to request the participation of US EPA Adm inistrator Scott Pruitt or, if appointed, the Trump Adm inistration's new EPA Region 1 Director fo r New England, as Keynote Speaker at the 2018 Annual Connecticut Recycling Conference hosted by the Connecticut Recyclers Coalition (CRC), on at the Aqua Turf Club in Southington, Connecticut. January 17, 2018 The CRC is a diverse group of waste and materials management businesses, th e ir municipal governm ent customers, nonprofits and individuals w ith an interest in the State's waste and recycling industries. Since 2014, CRC has hosted an annual conference to bring together its membership across the waste industry in Connecticut to discuss key issues fo r the coming year. Many of Connecticut's regulatory policies over the past decade have worked in concert w ith the form er "progressive" US EPA. In fact, many of Connecticut's environm ental policies got their start under form er EPA Adm inistrator, Gina McCarthy, who served as Connecticut's Department o f Environmental Protection Commissioner prior to her tenure at EPA. Given the leadership changes under President Trump, the CRC's membership is very anxious and interested in hearing more about how the regulatory landscape in New England and Connecticut will change given President Trump's reinvigorated pro-business outlook. More inform ation on the Connecticut Recyclers Coalition is available at www.ctrecyclers.com. In addition, a description of the Conference agenda topics is included below. The expert panelists will be announced in the coming weeks. I would be happy to provide any additional inform ation that may be required to consider this invitation by your office. Please do not hesitate to contact me at Julie@cga-ct.com or at (203) 496-0997. Thank you, on behalf o f the Connecticut Recyclers Coalition, fo r your consideration o f this request. Sincerely, Julie Cammarata A d m in istra to r Connecticut Recyclers Coalition 17cv01906 Sierra Club v.
