(A / '///3 !?i BRAIN TUMOR STUDY--FObbOW-UP NO. 9 We want to continue? to keep you posted on the status of our studies of brain tumor deaths among former employees at Texas City. To date, we/have completed approximately 9S, of the follow-up work i including the analysis of death certificates ot employees and former employees extending bach 30 years. We have found no new cases since our last report dated O'ctober 30, 1980. Based on the information we have collected, we have iden tified six (6) cases; of deaths caused by malignant brain tumors. Of these, two are also identified as having worked at another company and .arc being classified as that company's group by NTOSH's studios. There are three (3) cases under consideration that may involve primary brain tumors, but we have been unable to obtain enough information to confirm or deny the diagnosis. However, there appears to be no association between those cases and"worker-exposure in the Texas City plant. . We arc continuing our effort to account lor the vital status of all former employees who have worked at this site. We are now to the point that we need your help in locating former employees.
