Federal Specifications - Class 5330 Mechanical Packing: Association's recommendations as forwarded to A.T.I. per their letter dated February 4, 1965, were reviewed and analyzed. In the meantime, Mechanical Packing is advised of our approval to their recommendations and we requested, per our letter of March 4, 196b. to forward the final recommendations to the U.S. Army Material Research Agency in Watertown, Massachusetts. 2. Specification SS-C-466e As referred to in our report of October 8, 1964, some discrepancies in subject specification were found. Bureau of Ships was notified of these discrepancies per our letter dated October 13, 1964. On October 23, 1964, Bureau of Ships advised that they will take our recommendations into consideration within a few months. In the meantime, the writer visited Bureau of Ships and subject specification will be amended as follows:r (a) Paragraph 1.2.1 - Grade AAA, delete 9 and insert 95. (b) Page 3, Table 5, delete 99 and 70 on the warp and fill under breaking strength and insert warp 65 and fill 40. (c) Paragraph 3*6.1.1 - in third sentence Insert 3 ply after 10 cut. Also in third sentence delete "wrap" and insert "warp". Shettcrly of Bureau of Ships, on 3-19-65. Also discussed with Mr. Shetterly was the proposal by the Defense Construction Supply Center, Columbus, Ohio, to combine some fourteen (14) asbestos specifications into a single document. Incidentally, in the meantime, all insulation specifications will be handled by Mr. Bob Selts, of Bureau of Ships. His telephone number is: Area Code 2O2-0X-6-5445. Mr. Seits advised the writer that his office is working on the proposal of DCSC in combining the specifications. Right now they are in preliminary stages, looking into the feasibility and hope to be able to give us some more information of their progress by the end of July, 1965* However, he believes that it will take them at least another year to issue's draft for our recommen dations. He certainly will appreciate our cooperation. 3. MIL-Q-9858A . Because of conflicting dates, Mr. Brandon, Chief, Quality Assurance Division, DCSC, was unable to attend our meeting. It was decided to invite Mr. Brandon to one of our future meetings. 4.
