I delivered the message to your secretary and when I arrived in Dayton I found your splendid l et t er of June 10 waiting for me . Dr. Kehoe, I want to express my personal appreciation and also the gratitude of the Company for your acti vi t ies and endeavors in our behalf. I am sure that you will be interested to know that I called on the Indianapolis State Board of. Health while I was East this time and showed them not only your original report of November 24, 1959 but also your current let t er of June 10. I also showed them some extremely interesting data which has been produced by the Foster D. Snell Laboratories in New York under the direction of Dr. Haldane Gee, with whom you are no doubt well acquainted. We had Dr. Gee conduct oral toxicity tests, skin absorption tests aid gas phase inhalation tests on three of our products. We submitted our heavy duty grade of Wynn' s Friction Proofing, our regular or light duty grade and also a blend of solvents which we use as a gasoline additive and for cleaning carburetors. On the basis of the reports from Foster D. Snell the Indianapolis State Board of Health very quickly decided that according to the l et t er of their law and also the Federal Law HR 5260 which is currently being presented to the Houses of Congress none of our products would be considered as poisons. This, of course, is based on Ld-50 determinations as delineated by the Statutes. In fact, they decided that none of our products would be considered hazardous and that they would not require registration. The only ingredient in our Wynn*s Friction Proofing products which gave them concern is the percentage of petroleum hydrocarbon. They , have asked us to supply them with a l i st of our products showing the exact percentage of petroleum hydrocarbon in each product. They also stated that they would wish us to alter our current labels, both lithographed and paper, when the proper economic opportunity presents i tsel f to include a very mild caption as follows: 0005068 N7229 Robert A.
