ETHYL CORPORATION OP CANADA LIMITED Memorandum of Telephone Contact with Deputy Minister of Health ~ St. John's, Newfoundland g7 January, i960 Subject: HIGHER TETRAETHYL LBAD CONTENT IN MOTOR FUEL While in Halifax, confirming arrangements mads by previous correspondence, Dr. Ieonard A. Miller, Deputy Minister, Department of Health of Newfoundland, was contacted by telephone. He had been previously sent 17.S. Public Health Service Bulletin .>712, "Public Health Aspects of Increasing Tetraethyl Lead Content in Motor Fuel". Dr. V/arren discussed the industrial hygiene activities of the Company in the past and our method of supervising the product in automotive and aviation fuel. Dr. Miller did not express any particular concern but was interested in knowing where tetraethyl lead would be added and if there 'were any changes proposed in present methods of handling. It was explained that the Ethyl fluid would only be added at refineries and that there would be no changes in our industrial hygiene program.
