This pamphlet published by Johns-Karelllo is made available to anyone handling J-K Asbestos Fiber. It basically statoi the safe practices that J-M enforces in all their plants* It is well written without using scare tactica, and I would recommend that each Plant Manager study it carefully and apply the recommendations to the handling of Asbestos products in their respectivo plants. This department recently received information to the effect tint the American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists lias reces* mended to all Federal agencies that tho Threshold Limit fer Asbestos bo reduced from tho present limit cf 12 fibers per milliliter create: than 5 nicrcn3 in length to 5 fibers per milliliter. This drastic .reduction would lower the impieger method of 2 millions cf particles v' per cubic foot of air to less than 1, and makQ"ir.r7inger nothods of counting dust almost impossible. This new recoccusdaticn will be in effect very shortly under the vralsii-Kcaley Act and other Federal and State regulations, Tho responsibility of meeting Threshold Limits of exposure to any dust is the responsibility of the employer. .Recently `Robert D.
