The Committee wishes to draw par ticular notice to devices not based oa any understandable scientific principle but usually promoted on the basil at testimonials--unsupported by quantita tive data--from "satisfied" customers. The Committee calls special attention to supposedly scientific esplanitiont mak ing liberal and often Incoherent use ol high-sounding technical terms. Ooaeld C McGrow I4g Donald C McGraw Succeeds Brother As President of McGraw-Hill Donald C McCravf has succeeded hii'hrother, the late Curtis W MeCrow, as president of McGraw-Hill Publishing Co, Ine. The Board of Directors elected him president at a meeting held Sept 17. The new president Is the youngest son of the lote James H McGraw Sr, founder of the company. He has been a director since 1935 and vice-president since 1945. During World War II he was o con sultant to iho Publishing and Printing Division of the War Production Board. A native of Madison, N. J., Mr MeGraw now is a resident of Summit, N. J. He is a graduate of Lawreneeville School and he attended Princeton UniversityDuring World War I, he served with the U. S. Navy.
