UNION CARBIDE STANDARD TESTING METHOD UNION CARBIDE CORPORATION METHOO NUMBER DETERMINATION OF HEATING LOSS AND/OR TOTAL SOLIDS WC-160-H ISSUE PAGE OF 1 PURPOSE This method describes a procedure for determining the heating loss and/or total solids of a vinyl resin. The drying time and temperature are specified in the Plastics Product Standard for that particular resin. Most commercial resins are dried for 45 minutes at 105'C. 2 12 DATE October 28, 1960 2 EQUIPMENT a) Oven, constant temperature laboratory type capable of being maintained at l"C of the specified test temperature.
