I am extremely disappointed with this result. While we certainly cannot argue that the claimant had a stroke while on the job, I firmly believe there was no evidence to support that his job caused the stroke. However, I could not recommend an appeal to the Court of Appeals. It would be a very lengthy and expensive process, and I don't think we have enough ammunition to wage that battle. I am in the process of obtaining a copy of the Clayton County Order, and I will forward it to you as soon as I receive it. I would recommend that we go ahead and pay this claim and try to get it settled as quickly as possible. Our exposure will be extremely high since this man will probably never return to work.
