Asbestos samples taken 7/17/74. Bedford Lab reported 4.5 fibers in excess
of 5 micrometers. Threshold limits at 5.
9/18/74
Bipel preformer - Will build enclosure to contain pressing area and provide
evacuation system.
//7 punch press - Cost to wash flberglas strip prohibitive.
ED will investigate possibility of using manufacturer's standard thickness.
We will transfer large Torit dust collector to #7 punch press to alleviate
problem.
11/21/74 Molding dust samples taken second day of inventory. All fans and operations

equipment and walls. Recommend complete area cleaning before next test 1/75.)?
11/21/74 Reinstalled proper preform loader, new discharge hose and secure preform
cover properly.
11/21/74 , Torit dust'collector transferred to //7 punch press - operation improved.
11/21/74 //7 punch press die enclosure must be improved so dust can be evacuated
to dust collector.
12/19/74 Arrangements made to clean Molding Department by 2/3/75,
1/20/75 7/7 punch press.- Will complete plexiglas die enclosure by 1/27/75'.

2/11/75 Molding area - Cleaned on 1/31, 2/1, 2/2, 1975.
New air samples taken 2/3/75.

2/20/75 Will turn Bipel preformer 180" and measure the effects this will have
on the results, as air will then be flowing over employee and then over
preformer area. As the exhaust fan is on the opposite side of the preformer
this should keep some of the air borne asbestos away from the operator.

a. We have completed enclosing openings on #7 punch press and have improved dust problem; however, we are still having a fiberglas
particle problem due to inadequate air volume of our present dust
collector.
b. We have turned the Bipel preformer 180 to improve the asbestos
problem for the preform operator. We have taken dust samples and
delivered them to Bedford Lab for analysis on 4/16/75.

It would appear that turning the preformer had the desired results.

Idea to buy fiberglas stock at standard thickness dropped - fabricated
parts will not fit in breaker. Will need to improve //7 press enclosure
and add new dust collector. .

Page 2 - Brazing Guarding Silver solder dispenser (paste) works very good. Sent back to TE for more development. We may use this device with two palm buttons and not have to use welder guards.
