How the K2 Test Kit Works The r Teat is a colorimetric test for eagneslom (Hg ) and Iron (Fe ) and is not specific for asbestos. Hageeslum.and iron ore contained In all types of asbestos (Table 1). The Hg z from chxysotlle Is completed with p-nitrobenzene ipnphthol and forms a blue color. The Fe from the anphiboles is completed with 1, lO-phenanthroline and forms a red color. A positive teat is indicated by the formation of these colored completes and indicates tha possible pressM^of asbestos.
