The first section was contained in OSHA's August 12, 1980, Federal Register Notice (45 Fed. Reg. 53671) a copy of which was enclosed with our August 15 letter. The second section (the "CAG Section"), which included most of the substances contained in the List of Carcinogens prepared by EPA's Car cinogen Assessment Group ("CAG"), did not appear in the August 12 Federal Register Notice but was incorporated by reference. In order to provide you with a copy of the complete Candidate List as soon as possible, we obtained and forwarded the CAG^Section to you in unofficial form. Since that time we have obtained and are enclosing an official copy of the CAG Section. We have been advised by OSHA that, due to the-signi ficance of the issues and the volume of information involved, the Agency will be extending the comment period on the Candi date List from October 14 to November 10, 1980.
