The following suggestions are designed to meet OSHA requirements for protection from airborne asbestos: 1. Removal and re-installation of Maranite panels without drilling or cutting. (Airborne asbestos levels are expected to be below 2 fibers/cc.during this operation.) A. Workers to be provided with cotton coveralls which are to be. left at Todd for laundering at the conclusion of the shift. B. Workers to be provided with disposable res pirators approved for asbestos. 2. Cutting and drilling of Maranite panels. (Airborne asbestos levels are expected to exceed 2 fibers/cc during this operation.) A. Spaces should be secured with airtight plastic enclosures. B. Workers should be provided with disposable coveralIs. C. Workers should be provided with cartridge-type respirators approved for asbestos. D. Spaces should be thoroughly cleaned of all asbestos debris before allowing unprotected workers into the space. 3. Entrance into secured spaces. A. Workers entering asbestos work areas prior to final clean-up should be required to wear disposable respirators approved for asbestos at all times within the asbestos work areas. B.
