Reason: Not a Small Business Provided CBI warning to facility The following information was obtained verbally from INEOS Joliet LLC unless otherwise noted. Process Description: INEOS Joliet LLC (INEOS) operates a chemical manufacturing facility at its Channahon, IL location. The facility has approximately 150 employees and operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week. The facility produces three main products: isopthalic acid (IPA), trimellitic anhydride (TMA), and maleic anhydride (MAN). All processes are continuous processes. Staff Interview: INEOS informed EPA that since February 2024 through the date of the inspection, the TMA process has not been operating; INEOS stated that all processes generate some wastewater, but that the purified IPA process generates the majority of wastewater at the facility; TOUR INFORMATION EPA Toured the Facility: Yes Data Collected and Observations: EPA drove the GMAP around the facility. It started raining at 11:18 AM and continued to rain through the entirety of the inspection.
