In my case I believe in advising the President on what is being accomplished and what is being planned. In that way you may provide guidance and be informed. REPORT TO THE PRESIDENT The committee's name has been changed to "Health and Environmental Affairs Committee". Three new members have been added to broaden the membership representation. They are: Don Lee, Nutum, World Bestos Division George Bohrer, K. K. Porter Co, Thermoid Division Richard Dean, Thiokal Corporation, Friction Division The Institutes catalog insert "Recommended Procedures for Reducing Asbestos Dust During Brake Servicing" has been revised and is being updated. A charter defining the duties and responsibilities of the newly named committee is being developed. An FMSI response to the "Consumer Product Safety Commission" and "Environmental Protection Agency" proposed rulemaking has been drafted and is undergoing committee review. The Fenwick Bill is considered dead and thus no committee action considered necessary. Senator Hart's bill is being studied for possible action. I have started a movement towards defining how the committee could provide more data in a more timely fashion to the membership. Hope to be able to provide more on this subject from the next meeting.
