Digestion of each filter with acid was followed by evaporation to near dryness. After dissolving the residue in dilute acid, the solution was analyzed by the plasma emission spectrometric method. The results are as follows:

Ten air sampling tubes, including two blanks, were analyzed for n-butanol using a gas chromatographic procedure. The chromatograms of the samples showed an additional peak which was identified as 1,1,1-trichloroethane via gas chromatography/mass spectrometry. The results for these two analytes (front sections) are as follows:
