An industrial hygiene etxrvey of asbeetos operations wdt in August, 1973, suggested changas in handling and dust con trol. This 1sttar covers tha February 12 survay conducted to evaluate Improvements in tha insulation shop.
Tha rasulta of this survay show that tha improvements she it possible to comply with the OSHA standard for both the tine-weighted average and peak concentrations. The attached table includes the locations where samples ware taken, their respective fiber concentrations, and concentra tions from the earlier survey.
Economics as wall as worker axposurs should be consid ered with this operation. This shop apparently is used only when there is a large project requiring much fabrication,

exposures to the men in the field, prefabricated pieces could be used-prefabricated in the shop or pieces purchased prefabricated. If pieces were purchased, then these would be no need to have the power equipment available in the
shop. But if it was decided to increase the use of the afaop, the following esene of improving the exhaust system
should be considered!

of the blade
