Students engaged on a part time basis in educational institutions in which they are enrolled, may be per mitted to work beyond the regulatory spread of hours and may work more than five and one-half days per week, provided actual working time shall not exceed eight hours in any one day or forty-four hours in any one week.
OUTSIDE WORK

Employers may permit employes engaged in or imme diately connected with outside work, to average 44 hours per week over a period of one calendar month and to work six days per week, where weather and cli matic conditions have caused interruption of regular employment.

OFFICE BUILDING OPERATIONS AND MANAGEMENT

MAIL ORDER INDUSTRY

Employers in the Mail Order Business may permit em ployes to work for not more than eight hours in any one day or forty-four hours in six days In any one week, ex cept that such employes may be permitted to work for not more than ten hours on one selected day of the week. All hours worked over eight on any such selected day shall be paid for at the rate of one and one-half times the regular rate per hour.

RETAIL TRADE

Employers in Retail Trade may permit employes to work for not more than eight hours in any one day or forty-four hours in six days in any one week; except that such employes may be permitted to work for not more than ten hours on Saturday, and on the day im mediately preceding a legal holiday on which employes are not permitted to work. All hours worked over eight on any such long day shall be paid for at the rate of one and one-half times the regular rate per hour.
CANNERIES

Employers engaged in the canning, processing and packing of perishable fruit or vegetable products may employ persons during the canning season beyond the hours specified in the law provided that the conditions of employment conform to the following;
(a) That hours worked per day over eight shall be paid at a rate of at least one and one-half times the regu lar wage scale for such period of overtime.
(b) Employes shall be allowed at least one-half hour lunch period for each five hours of employment.
(c) No more than six consecutive hours shall be allowed for employment without a lunch period.
(d) In the case of female employes all work performed shall be within the hours between 6 A. M. and 10 P. M. except that females between eighteen and twenty-one years of age shall not be employed after 9 P. M.
NOTE: (This variation it not applicable to minors under the ago of eighteen inasmuch as they are tubtoct to all the provisions of the Child Labor Law.)
(e) Application for permission to apply the privileges extended under this regulation shall be filed annu ally by each establishment at least thirty days in advance of the season, the same to be accom-
