The report of the Treasurer for the period December 1 to December 31, 1944, was reviewed, and On motion, duly made and seconded, and VOTED: That the report be accepted and placed on file. B. Business Conditions Report No. 62. Business Conditions Report No. 62 was reviewed. II. M.C.A. COMMITTEES A. Occupational Classification Committee. The Secretary advised that a meeting of the Occupational Classification Committee would be held on January 11 in New York in response to a re quest from Mr. H. A. Clark, Industry Member, Chemical Division, of Region 2 WLB, in regard to the scope of the chemical industry and definition of jobs, and the question of going rates. An extended discussion emphsized the importance of this problem and the tendency for variation between different regions in regard to the scope, job classification and rates. B. Labels and Precautionary Information Committee. Reference was made to the 14 product label recommendations completed by the committee and mailed to member executives. Due to the interest of other groups, concerns and officials in these recommendations, the question'of preparing them in a form for release was referred to the LAPI Committee for recommendation. Code Shipments. The Secretary advised that it had been reported that some shipments are being sent under code and was instructed to send another letter to member executives transmitting the recommendation of the LAPI Committee, originally mailed to them on August 11, 1944. III. ANNUAL MEETING.- JUNE 1945 The request of the O.D.T. for cancellation of conventions involving 50 or w CMA 066574 S-291 more persons was discussed. In view of the present uncertainties, ohe subject was hel over for consideration at the next meeting. A.M.A. Meeting. The Secretary advised the Committee of the tentative program of the Council on Industrial Health of the American Medical Association, Scheduled to convene in Chicago on February 15. He indicated that this meeting may be cancelled under the convention ban. IV. RETIREMENT PUN The Chairman was requested to appoint a committee to study and report on a retirement plan appropriate for members of the paid staff of the M.C.A. V. INCREASED WAR LOAD OK THE CHEMICAL INDUSTRY The increased war load of the chemical industry, involving new plants and additional manpower, was reviewed. VI.
