A telephone conversation with Mr. Ladner of FS on 10/13/83 provided th* following information about the blend cycle change planned for Shreveport.
1. FS desires to remain on an 88" cycle while converting from three to two drops.
2. FS personnel evaluated samples of the new FK 99" blends and felt ' that the colors were to "choppy" for their area.
3. A modified Woodblend has been run at FS utilizing a proposed 88" two drop cycle. (See attached diagram). These shingles are to be appli ed on a test roof for evaluation by FS.
4. Mr. Ladner has developed modified blend formuations for other FS colors following the results of the Woodblend trial.
It is the opinion of BBH that the 48-3/4 inch spill area may cause a mut ing of the blends, as was the case at FB before elimination of the 33 inch spill in the old 99 inch cycle. Also, the use of 61% spill will most like ly result in a need to make up a large amount of spill prior to running and, therefore, possible excess use of colored granules.
