Last Friday (1/4) I talked with Tom Robinson at Vulcan, as you requested.
He is concerned about plant believing that it routinely
employee contains
etxhpeosc aure
to TCDD via 40 ppb TCDD's
OCP-Crude, reported
for the Sturgeon spill material. He wanted our analytical methodology
so they could monitor incoming material.
First I assured him that the Sturgeon material was apparently abberant in its TCDD content, and that present (April and later) production contained no detectable TCDD, with our detection limit now being 0.5 ppb. That relieved his concern considerably.
I explained to him that we had under development a new method for TCDD's that we intended to use for monitoring OCP production. It is still being proved, so I can't send him details at this time, but I promised to do so when it was released. I explained also that this would not be suitable for routine analyses, and that we had no Intention of basing a specification on its use.
I have sent him a copy of the literature (GC/MS) method now in use at MRC-Dayton and previously used here (MIC-Environmental Sciences) to analyze the Sturgeon method.
This seemed to satisfy Tom.
