YOUR REF.
Dp R * A iCehoe , University of Cincinnal College ot Medicine, Cincinnati, OHIO.
1st August 1947.
Dear Dr.Kehoe,
Some four we/ks ago, we received cable advice from Australia !that thers/were two cases of lead poisoning in Sydney which were being tr/ated with satisfactory results by Dr.Blackburn. As we had no further details, we waited for the full report before advising you. Th^s report has now come to hand, and we enclose copies of the foll/wing documents
1) Covering letter dated 23rd July from our Australian Office, 2) Copy of letter from C.O.R. to Mr.Batchelor dated 15th July. 3) Copy of metical report by Dr,Blackburn dated 13th July.
4) Copy of letter commenting on the cases, from Dr.Fairley to Mr.Batcielor, dated 22nd July.
You will of course, notice that this case bears an almost tragic similarity to practically all other cases of lead poisoning due to taxik cleaiing, inasmuch as it is quite obviously attributable to negligence in/following our regulations.
The main1:point of interest, however, which emerges is the successful result of the treatment given by Dr.Blackburn.
Mr.Bevaii has asked me to send you the enclosed correspondence, at the same tiir# sending it also to Dr.Davison. Later this year, when Dr.Davison)/ visits you, we should much appreciate receiving your conclusions and comments on Dr.Blackburn's report and, in particular, onfthe suggestions in the last section of this report.
We; feeL sure that you will agree tha^t Dr.Blackburn has
handled this casein an admirable manner. 1 ff / With kindest regards,
