\ ANALYSIS
KEY
1. IC - In Control 2. OC - Out of Control 3. High or Low - The property is running either higher or
lower than the midpoint of the spec, range and requires corrective action. Excep tions, of course, would be high heat stabi lities or low contamination and gel levels and these should be consistently maintain ed. 4. ----- Line - No data for analysis 5. Blank Space - Indicates property was in control at the last review and has stayed in control.
I. Homopolymer
Particle size distribution, dry blend and bulk density are properties that require close attention. In regard to particle size distribution, the specification changes for 225/16R, 250-1 and 250-12, that were discussed with Process Engineering, will be reviewed with Customer Ser vice Laboratory.
II. Copolymer
Specific property control by product type that we reviewed were as follows:
1. 214.
a. R. V. - R. V. has been consistently running to the high side' Since raising the reaction temperature is not advisable in this case. Production will request that Process Engineering review this problem.
b. Screen - Gelatin level has been lowered to coursen the particle size.
2. 285 a. L.B.D. - This property should be lowered to bring it into control.
5- 589 a. Screen
lowering the gelatin level has brought this property to mid-range.

\ ANALYSIS (Cont'd.)
III. Plastisol Sufficient data to review was available only for 1755
and 1742 due to the production schedule for the period. Two specific areas of property control discussed
were: 1. 1742
a. 1 day Brkfld. - V/hlle this property was statisti cally running to the high side, the within-lot control was inproved over the last period.
b. R. V. - The low relative viscosity experienced for the period indicates that the reaction temperature should be lowered. However, since this would cause longer reaction rates and poorer economics, the specifica tion will be reviewed with Customer Service Laboratory.
