Asbestos Rope (Twisted) is made by tightly twisting together two or more strands of Asbestos Wick. Asbestos Rope (Braided) is made by braiding one or more jackets of Asbestos Yarns over a core of Asbestos Wick or Rope. COMPOSITION: Combination of selected Asbestos fibers and synthetics blended together. Both Wick and Rope can be CLEANGARD Processed to control the lint or fiber fallout. PHYSICAL PROPERTIES: Excellent resistance to most chemicals. and heat resistant. Soft, pliable USES: WICK: Packing for steam and hotwater valves, weather seal for corrugated roofing, excellent for caulking ovens and furnace doors, wiping excessive metal from galvanizing and tinning operations, and as core for high temperature packings. ROPE: Use as gasketing material, filling expansion joints in furnace brickwork, for valve packing, as core for high temperature packing and material for sealing doors to eliminate heat or gases from escaping. DURABILITY: Easily compressed to form a tight seal. Excellent resistance against weathering and inert to most chemicals.
