FIXING PROCEDURE FOR "VITOL"
1. Mix l/3 part by weight of emulsifying base (Penola 2210 or equiva lent) with 3/3 parts by weight of kerosene. Stir well. Penola specifio gravity is 1.07 and kerosene is about 0.780.
2. Mix part by volume of inhibitor from #1 above into 2 parts by volume of water. Stir or agitate -until uniform white emulsion is obtained.
3. Separately mix 85 parts by volume of methanol with enough tetra ethyl lead fluid to give 3.53 cc of tetraethyl lead per gallon of pure methanol.
4. To the 85 parts of leaded methanol add 13 parts of rater slowly with agitation or stirring.
5. Slowly add inhibitor from #2 with agitation.
NOTE:
Important - Total hardness of water must be less than 100 parts per million.
