1 - Place alloy rods in jig in contact with equipment at designated location and weld one end of rods.
2 - Remove jig, make sure that rods are snug against wall and weld other end of rods.
3 - When installing gage point rods avoid damage to outward extending cylin drical surfaces as these surfaces are used as datum for micrometer gaging.
H - The material fgr gage point rods shall be as specified on the equipment .
drawing. All 18-8 Cr.-Ni. (AISI Type 302) and l8-8-3.Cr.-Ni.-MoIy
* (AISI Type 316) gage point rods shall be welded with 1/8" chrome-nickel-
molyAISI Type 316 electrodes. Kastelloy A or B gage point rods shall be
welded with 1/8" Haste Hoy 8 electrodes.
