These are the results from the Corporate Medical Surveillance System. There are no results for the Canadian Plants or Terre Haute. I have included those job which only have exposure to Compound Operations. The highest result was in Plaquemine where the Operations Specialist/Technician - Compound had a 0.92 ppm average reading. Most plants do not monitor for VCM in Compounding operations. The result < 0.12 is a number entered into the computer which represents 1/2 the Detection Limit and indicates the results were below the Detection Limit of the analytical method used. GVD has always used 0.25 ppm for the detection limit when monitoring with the Reizener Badges. If a charcoal tube and pump were used a specific volume of analyte could be drawn and a much lower detection limit would be achievable. Under the present circumstances I recommend more accurate monitoring be conducted. We no longer are dealing with simple OSHA compliance issues and therefore need more sophisticated monitoring technics.
