Dust Collection As of Friday, May 2, 1969, there has been no pluggage of the dust collection system. (Successful operation since April 26, 1969). The float vlave has been modified for more reliable operation. All tracing and insulation required by the new ductwork has been completed. Mr. Faulkner has been alerted as to the necessity of keeping the three sumps drained1of eutetic. On Friday, May 2, 1969, the Plant drained the large sump at the rotoclone and collected between 2 and 3 gallons. CED construction has not received the drawing for the trench and curbed area. Bill Schuchat will check on this. 2. Biphenyl Temperature Control The new therminol system (inside the warehouse) will be installed by the plant, as per an agreement with Lamar Faulkner. J. Arnold will mail 4 sets of drawings and sketches to L. Faulkner today. The Plant will purchase the pipe and valves, CED has purchased the pump, control valves, and the TIC. CED Construction will deliver these items (CED Purchased) to the Plant when they arrive. 3. Aroclor Flakers CED construction has delivered the deflector plates (for the drum ends) to the Plant for their installation. Modify North Truck Docks to Provide Adjustable Steps Adjustable steps should arrive by 5/15/69. 8. Installation of Drumming Scale This installation is complete, except as follows: a. Provision of manual filling valve - (P.O. 1430-9-0192) b. Provision of interlock to prevent movement of pallet conveyor during filling cycle - this will be complete 5/5/69. c. Provision of manual printing of weight. Expected completion 5/8/69. The Plant has requested an interlock to prevent the lance from being raised from the drum before flow is stopped. This feature is provided for automatic filling but not for manual filling. Interlocks would be needed for each size drum. CED feels that these interlocks should not be added because manual operation would be used only to complete the days work if there were a problem with the automatic system. Interlocks could render the manual system inoperative also. I have discussed several methods of manual operation with Lamar Faulkner that would minimize any potential problem iii this area. 9. Installation of Clay Oven This oven will be available for operation on May 6, 1969. Temperature will be limited to 250F until the correct controller (250C) is installed. This controller changeout will be complete^ before May 9, 1969. 10. Insufficient Air Supply CED will provide a plant air system for the warehouse. The compressor selected is a joy "twist-air-screw compressor". At L. Faulkner's request, vendor's data was sent to him on May 2, 1969 for Plant review.
