Minutes of Meeting of the EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE held ____________________ July 17. 1940____________________
PRESENT: Messrs. Rockwall, Geresche, Geatty, Simon and Warshow, (H. 0. Bates, Secretary)
ABSENT: Messrs. Croft, Rowe and Sidford.
The minutes of the meeting of July 10, 1940 were duly
approved.
On separate motions duly made and seconded the follow
ing resolutions were each unanimously adopted:
RESOLVED, that the officers of the Company he and they hereby are authorized, empowered and directed to continue for the year 1940 the annual contribution of $10,870. toward the budget of Forest Products-Better Paint Campaign, under the direction of Lead Industries Association, which was heretofore authorized and paid by the Company for the years 1936, 1937, 1938 and 1939.
RESOLVED, that the officers of the Company be and they hereby are authorized and directed to contribute the sum of $16,525. toward the financing of the Plumbing Promotion Program of Lead Industries Association for the calendar year 1940.
RESOLVED, that the sum of $1,970.10 be and it hereby is appropriated to cover cost of consolidating present 20th floor offices of the Company in the space vacated by the Titanium Division on the 18th floor, at 111 Broadway, New York City, as recommended in letter of Mr. L. G. Reichhard, Production Manager, dated July 17, 1940.
RESOLVED, that the action of the officers of the Company in approving a lease from West Coast Life Insurance Company to Pacific Coast Branch of the premises at 1340-44 Van Ness Avenue, Fresno, California, for a term of ten years from September 1, 1940 to August 31, 1950, at an annual rental of $200.00 per month for the first sixty months and $225.00 per month for the remaining sixty months under the terms of a lease dated July 2, 1940, be and it hereby is approved, ratified and confirmed.

RESOLVED, that the officers of the Company be and they hereby are authorized and directed in its name and in its behalf to execute and deliver a deed of conveyance to Briggs E. Porter and Julia B. Porter for the consideration of $1,025. covering the parcel of land in the City of Lodi, County of San Joaquin, California, described as Lot 5 re subdivision of Lots 2, 3 and 4, Block 9, Hutchin's Addition To Lodi, Map filed July 14, 1915.
RESOLVED, that the sum of $4,233.00 be and it hereby is appropriated to cover purchase and installation of linseed cake grinding equipment at the Atlantic Works Mill, Atlantic Branch, as recommended in formal application dated July 8, 1940.
RESOLVED, that the sum of $7,900. be and it hereby is appropriated to cover the erection of an annex to Mill Building at a cost of $4400. and to re arrange present equipment and purchase and install new equipment for grinding limestone rock at a cost of $3500., at the St. Louis Plant of De Lore Division, in conformity with letters and applications of Mr. C. P. De Lore, Manager, dated April 8, 1940.
RESOLVED, that the sum of $1,274.30 be and it hereby is appropriated to cover cost of re-tubing No. 1 Heine Boiler for use in production of CO2 from coke at the St. Louis Lead & Oil Works of St. Louis Branch, as recommended in formal application dated July 10, 1940.
RESOLVED, that the sum of $11,912.31 be and it hereby is appropriated to cover cost of changes in Taper-ware Packages at Steel Package Plant, St. Louis Branch, as recommended in formal application dated July 8, 1940.
RESOLVED, that the sum of $3,877.47 be and it hereby is appropriated to cover cost of various repair jobs at Sayreville Plant, Titanium Division, under Job Orders:
A-4827 - open floor drain, Clarification Department,
A-6214 - renew top of No. 10 Digestion Tank,
A-6358 - new tumbler for No. 1
Dehydrator, A-7156 - replace worn parts. No. 2-B
coal pulverizer,
A-7441 - replace worn brick in No. 3 Roaster,
A-7796 - repair brick work in No. 2 Dehydrator,

RESOLVED, that the sum of $5,274.00 be and it hereby is appropriated to cover cost of improvements to metering of steam and water at Sayreville Plant, Titanium Division, as recommended in formal application dated June 19, 1940.
RESOLVED, that the sum of $9,299.00 be and it hereby is appropriated to cover cost of installation of piping for cooling SO2 Gas in Acid Recovery Department at Sayreville Plant, Titanium Division, as recommended in formal appli cation dated June 27, 1940.
