The agenda for the meeting called for: (1) A discussion of Revised Specification for Calcium Silicate C 533: Two negative votes from Harry Hoops and Ed Smiley were re viewed and surrested changes were to be discussed and voted upon in AST*-! 16.20 Committee. (2) Proposed inside diameters of P.irid High Temperature Insulation: This was referred back to Bill Turner and AST!'! with the indication of non-acceptance by NIKA, All present felt that the cost of meeting these new dimensions would cost entire ly too much. Speoiel Committee on "Potential Health Hazards of Thermal Insulation There was a verv short discussion on this report and it was felt that those rresent could offer nothinr to this report, It will be held until further information is available. At this point in the meetinp, J. Barnhart stated that three states (Kansas, Massachusetts, and California 1 have introduced a ., bill in the State Lerislature which would prevent the use of esbestosV fiber insulation (or any other material that can become airborne' y in air circulating ducts. J. 3arnhart will keep informed as to action taken and let NIKA participants know the results. ^ . ' The proposed chanres (deletions) to MIL-Std. 769c were then discussed and the result of this discussion was to turn these sur=-ested changes over to "The Health and Safety" Conmittee of NIKA. This committee will keep NIKA people informed as to the action taken. Standard Packaging - GSA Recommendation: t A short discussion on this subject indicated "non-acceptance" of these su^rested packarinc reouirements and all members.are requested to submit in writing the list of sizes that do meet -these recommendations so_ as to show the extensive packaring chanre needed to meet these recommendations if they were accept ed by the industry. This is to be provided to J. Barnhart by Kay 1, 1970. Walter Lovett - March 16, 1970 All present were requested once more to review MaRad Specification and this time o^fer "Constructive Criticism" not just nepative comments. Comments will be sent to the Government T *. R Committee. A short discussion was held on the merits of the "lone-term" and the "7-day" stress corrosion test in conjunction with the proposed ASTM Specifica tion.
