Roberts i My secretary reported to you the results of analyses carried out on the blood and urine of tvo of your men, in her letter of February 6. I am now forwarding to you the reports of these analyses together with a bill to cover the cost of these services. First the results cn are veil within normal limits and would appear to indicate that this man has had no recent significant lead exposure. The results on indicate that this man has had little or no recent lead exposure. In hie case it is especially significant that there has been a further decrease in the lead concentration in the b l o o d . The urinary result obtained at the time of the last previous examination was lower than that obtained at present. However, this is clearly an. expression of the varia bility of the urinary lead concentration. This demonstrates the advisability of obtaining both blood and urine samples as a means of interpreting the status of the individual. Undoubtedly the sample received on the previous occasion from this man was somewhat dilute, while the present one was somewhat more concentrated. On the other h a n d , both of these results on the two occasions are within the limits of variability commonly found in association with the corresponding values in the blood. This man*s behavior, therefore, with reference to these lead concentrations is what would be anticipated if he had been largely relieved of significant exposure during the period in question. He is now back substantially to normal results, although without question the lead concentration in his tissues is still somewhat over that of an unexposed person. Cordially yours, 3TAK ef Enc.
