An Industry Insider Helps Call the Shots'. In response to repeated requests for information Mr. Lipton reports that Ms. Bowman responded in an e-mail (which I've seen in a cloud record snapshop) is this: "No matter how much information we give you, you would never write a fair piece," Liz Bowman, a spokeswoman for the E.P.A., said in an email. "The only thing inappropriate and biased is your continued fixation on writing elitist clickbait trying to attack qualified professionals committed to serving their country." How dare Ms. Bowman play judge and jury about media bias for the rest of us? I am well aware of the bias of the NYT-1 don't need Ms. Bowman to censure information for me. I will check my own sources. She is in fact hindering the free press and this kind of response only serves to divide our nation. Ms. Bowman does not get to serve only those Americans whom she deems worthy and neither does your office- which is in effect what this insulting response amounts to saying. Your office works for the American people, all of them, not just the ones that read the publications you think will give you favorable press. If the EPA wants to make a case for it's roll back of regulations, make it. Don't shut the dialog down. Her response simply fuels partisianship and animosity and was decidely un-American, rude, and completely and utterly unprofessional. What kind of outfit are you running now? The one that ensures we take about our democracy? I will be contacting my senators about this, have posted Ms. Bowman's response to twitter and facebook to call attention to it, and as far as I'm concerned should be censored if not fired for this kind of response.
