LAUCHLJN SUMMARY OF EVENTS: REMOVAL OF ASBESTOS INSULATION APRIL 19 AND 20, 1982 4/19/82 0745 Two Zachry construction workers were oriented by the DCB area Day Foreman for working in the DCB area. They were instructed to comply with l/H procedure 10 on asbestos removal* See attached check list. 0800-1730 Construction worked throughout day without problems. Job was checked on periodically by maintenance/production personnel. I/H 10 was followed. 4/20/82 m/0730 Construction picked up permit and began removing insulation. Mid-Morn. Myself and R. Garza, Day Foreman, looked over the work to be done on the Bd unloading vaporizer. We also observed construction removing insulation from piping in the area. We noted that insulators were following asbestos removal procedure. Mid-Day I was notified by John Gorcyca of a possible asbestos exposure at the acids cooling tower. I sent R. Garza to investigate, but by the time we were informed and he got to the scene, aJI personnel including Construction were gone from the area.
