Attached is an appropriation request for Asbestos Abatement in the amount of $120,000. Cost details and required forms are attached.
The purpose of this project is to help maintain compliance with the Environmental Protection Agency's rules and regulations pertaining to asbestos containing material. The El Paso Plant is engaged in a program to remove and dispose of asbestos containing material from flues, pipes, vessels, hoppers and supporting structures throughout the plant. The areas targeted in this appropriation will be the Reverb Boilers and various piping and office flooring where asbestoscontaining material is present. This project will help maintain compliance with the EPA's rulings on asbestos contained material. This project makes sound environmental and business sense.
This project involves the removal and disposal of asbestos contained material from the Reverb Boilers and various piping and office flooring in the plant.
