AZ-100 (W-132). The Keltex formulas containing W-132 called for 374 lbs. per 100 gallons, and a total of 205,000 gallons of this Keltex was manufactured. W-60 (90% 7RF02, 10% 7RF09). The Keltex formulas containing W-60 called for 374 lbs. per 100 gallons, and a total of 69,165 gallons of this Keltex was manufactured. W-88 (7M5). The Keltex formula containing W-88 called for 50 lbs. per 100 gallons, and a total of 13,050 gallons of this Keltex was manufactured. This comes to a grand total of 287,215 gallons of Keltex containing: W-132 W-60 W-88 76.875 lbs. 25.875 lbs. 6,500 lbs. 109,250 lbs. Asbestos was used in product 225, from 1963 to 1968. We do not have production figures for this entire period, however, during the six year period from 1972 to 1978, a total of 107,411 gallons of this product was manufactured. Asbestos was used in product 235, from 1972 to 1978. During that period a total of 17,274 gallons of this product was manufactured. Asbestos was used in product 521 from 1974 to 1978. During that period of time a total of 25,253 gallons of this product was manufactured. The use of asbestos in paint manufacture was discontinued in 1978. We have checked the old formulas and calculated the total amount of asbestos used in the San Carlos factory from 1972 through 1978. Product 225 - 107,411 gals X .65 lbs = 69,817 lbs Product 235 - 17,274 gals X 2.0 lbs = 34,548 lbs Product 521 - 25,253 gals X .45 lbs = 11,364 lbs Total Asbestos used - 115,729 lbs This information may be made available to our Attorneys and Insurance Companies. No person, on or after July 1, 1976, shall cause or permit the spraying of any substance containing any amount of asbestos in or upon a building or other structure during its construction, alteration, or repair. Cold process cutback asphalt roof coatings shall be exempted from the provisions of this chapter. (The above was enacted into law at the end of the 1974 Legislative Session.)
