Ellen gave an update of the US buta conference call. Some strategy was discussed at that meeting. The minutes of the meeting will be forwarded to all when they are received. Hygienists are to do a search for monitoring data which fits the criteria given in the new butadiene standard. The search will include data from 1960 to present. 2. The Gulf coast will use the same strategy for collecting data. Dr. McLaury in La, will be kept up to date on any meeting minutes. 3. The criteria for the search is: for workers currently working with buta = >AL 30 days/1 year >PEL 10 days/1 year Transferred workers = >PEL >30 days/yr for 10 years >AL >60 days/year for 10 years > 10 ppm >30 days in ANY year 4. All discussed the best way to get started, Susan Lacy joined the meeting and gave good input on the best way to do searches at the Texas site. 5. The work process is: (1) Hygienist will look through reports and monitoring data to determine if any job class fits the above criteria. (2) the job class information, date and plant name will be given to data management for help in locating employees who were in these areas during this time. (3) Names wifi be passed on to the medical department for medical surveillance. 6. The target date is June 1997 for completion. 7. Another teleconference meeting with the US group will be June 9. Action items: Nancy - Develop Access data base for inputting data collected. This data base will be used by La. and Texas. The information on the initial report will include the plant name, date of sample, Job class, File # of report, Bldg. #. Page 1 DO 074690 CONFIDENTIAL Information on the second report (to be sent to medical) will include name of person, master #, length of time in buta area, plant name and job class. After the data base is complete, Nancy will send a mail message to all Gulf Coast hygienists involved informing them of the location. Susan - (for Texas site) The data management team will copy any reports and raw data with butadiene monitoring from the microfiche. They will also flag all hard copies from the compliance files and give the files to the appropriate hygienist for interpretation. Ellen - Update the La group (Jackie) on the plan.
