When applied to rabbit skin, slight irritation occurred (DuPont, 1983b, 1983c). Instillation into the rabbit eye produced mild to moderate conjunctival irritation (DuPont, 1983a). By the acute inhalation route of exposure, Telomer B Carbamate has a 4-hour ALC in the rat of 76-80 mg/m (DuPont, 1986a, 1986b, 1986c). In a ten-day subchronic study, groups of rats were exposed six hours a day to 5.2,22 or 58 mg/m3. No adverse effects occurred in any group (DuPont, 1986d). Basis for AEL The relationship of Telomer B Carbamate and Telomer B Citrate Urethane (TBCU) was also considered. In a similar ten-day subchronic study, TBCU had a NOEL of 2.5 mg/m3 (DuPont, 1984). Based on this NOEL, an AEL of 0.1 mg/m' (8-hour TWA) was recommended for TBCU A similar safety factor was applied to the NOEL of 58 mg/m3 for Telomer B Carbamate and an AEL of 1 mg/m3(8-hour TWA), respirable particulate recommended. Telomer B Carbamate was updated in 1990,1995 and again in 2000. No additional information was found. References DuPont Co., Haskell Laboratory Data: 1983a. MR-4975-1, HL-422-83. 1983b.
